HORRY COUNTY BLOODHOUND TEAM
The HCPD Bloodhound Team is a specialized on-call
tactical unit that responds for children and adults who are lost or
missing, felons who have fled a crime scene, and evidence that has been
lost or disposed of.
While only some officer handlers have an assigned dog, every member is
cross-trained in dog handling, man tracking, and a combination of rural
and urban skills and movements.
Between human senses and canine senses, these Officer/bloodhound pairs
have an incredible set of skills prepped for deployment at any time.
This week, some HCPD bloodhound members are in Greenville for the
National Police Bloodhound Association annual training. Regular training
keeps these dog duos up to date!
